Valley town
The settlement stretches along the bottom of a narrow valley, which gives the poster a long, linear composition rather than a round or grid-shaped centre.

关于地图
Şemdinli Map Poster & Print
Şemdinli lies in Hakkâri province, in one of the most mountainous corners of Turkey, close to the borders with Iraq and Iran. The town follows the floor of a narrow valley, so on the map its streets form a long, slender shape between slopes that rise sharply on either side. Roads leave only where the valleys allow.
The surrounding terrain is high and rugged, with peaks that hold snow for much of the year and small villages set on terraces and ridges. The area is part of a historically Kurdish region. Its gorges, streams and orchards have long shaped how people live and move here.
A Şemdinli map poster captures a town entirely defined by relief. The built-up area follows the stream along the valley, streets branch briefly up the slopes, and the winding mountain roads beyond trace the lines of the land. Even in a flat black-and-white design, the shape of the valley comes through clearly.

Mountain stream
A watercourse runs along the valley floor through the town. It is the natural line that the main street and most of the buildings follow.
Winding roads
Roads approach and leave the town in tight curves and switchbacks, their routes dictated by the steep terrain on every side.

为什么选 Şemdinli
一张有意义的地图
Şemdinli is a remote place that people remember strongly, whether they grew up there, worked or studied there, or have family in the surrounding villages. A map of it holds that sense of a town shaped by mountains.
Write your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir works especially well for a mountain town like this. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
