The map
Daxu lies in the far north of Jiangsu, in the low, level country around Xuzhou, a crossroads region where Jiangsu borders Shandong and Anhui. The land here is almost completely flat, and the map reflects it: roads run in long straight lines, and the town's streets form a simple, practical grid set among fields.
Like many towns in this part of China, Daxu combines a modest older centre with newer blocks laid out along main roads. Around it, small villages and cultivated plots create an even, finely divided pattern, broken by the drainage channels and canals typical of a northern Jiangsu plain that has been farmed for centuries.
A Daxu map poster is a spare, orderly image, the kind of map that shows how a place actually fits into its surroundings. It is a good choice for people from the town who now live in Xuzhou, Nanjing or further away and want a small, precise piece of home on the wall.
With almost no hills to steer them, streets and roads keep to straight lines, giving the town a clean, rectilinear footprint that prints with great clarity.
Small settlements dot the surrounding countryside at regular intervals, each a tight cluster of lanes set among fields, creating a rhythmic pattern around the town.
Narrow drainage ditches and canals cut across the farmland in thin lines, a subtle but characteristic detail of the northern Jiangsu landscape.

Why Daxu
Small towns rarely appear on printed maps in any detail, which makes a poster centred on Daxu feel personal. It records the streets, the fields and the roads out of town exactly as they are drawn today.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or an important year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes six print sizes, each as a PNG and a print-ready PDF.
