El mapa

Chōfu Map Poster & Print

Chōfu lies in western Tokyo, where the city starts to give way to the Musashino plain. On a map it is a dense residential weave cut through by the Keio Line, with the broad Tama River along its southern edge. In the north, the grounds of Jindai-ji temple and the Jindai Botanical Gardens show up as one of the largest green areas in the Tokyo suburbs.

Jindai-ji is among the oldest temples in the Tokyo area and is known for the soba shops around its gates. Chōfu is also linked to Shigeru Mizuki, the creator of GeGeGe no Kitaro, who lived there for decades. Characters from his manga now appear around the station area.

A Chōfu map poster shows the pattern of a Tokyo suburb clearly: small blocks packed close together, rail lines meeting at the station, a large stadium, and the river as a calm southern border. The drawing is detailed and has a steady rhythm.

01

Tama River edge

The Tama River runs along the southern boundary, with a wide floodplain and riverside paths. On the poster it forms a broad, open band beneath the dense streets.

02

Jindai-ji grounds

The temple precinct and botanical gardens form a large green block in the north. With few roads crossing it, it stands out as a calm open space on the map.

03

Keio rail lines

The Keio Line and its branch meet at Chōfu station and now run underground there. On the map their routes still mark the main axes of the town.

Por qué Chōfu

Un mapa con significado

Chōfu is where many people build their Tokyo lives, close to the centre but with room for a walk along the river. A map of it suits a first apartment, a family home, or someone who has since moved away and remembers the soba after a temple visit.

The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be personalised, for example with a moving-in date or the name of your street. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit your interior.
