Ar Rudayyif Map Poster & Print
Ar Rudayyif, often written Redeyef, lies in the Gafsa region of southwest Tunisia, close to the border with Algeria. From above, the town sits in a hilly, arid landscape, its streets arranged in a tight pattern on the slopes and valley floor. Around it, the ground is bare and folded, crossed by tracks and railway lines.
The town is part of Tunisia's phosphate mining basin, and phosphate extraction has shaped its economy and its layout since the early twentieth century. In 2008, Redeyef was the centre of prolonged protests in the mining basin over jobs and living conditions, events that remain an important part of recent Tunisian history.
An Ar Rudayyif map poster shows the town as a compact settlement held within rough terrain. The streets form a dense, irregular grid, while mining areas and transport lines extend into the surrounding hills. The contrast between the built fabric and the empty, rugged land gives the poster a spare and serious character.

Phosphate workings and related infrastructure lie around the town, visible on the map as larger, more open areas beyond the residential blocks.
Rail and tracks
Railway lines and roads connect Redeyef with the rest of the mining basin, drawing long lines across an otherwise sparse landscape.
