Balch Springs Map Poster & Print
Balch Springs is a city in Dallas County, Texas, on the southeastern side of the Dallas metropolitan area. On a map it is largely residential: a regular grid of streets with single-family homes, a few main arterial roads carrying commercial strips, and large highways marking its edges. The land is flat, and the street pattern shows it clearly.
Like many Dallas suburbs, Balch Springs grew rapidly in the decades after the Second World War, and the shape of its neighbourhoods reflects that period, with long, straight streets and small loops and cul-de-sacs added later. Interstate 635 and other regional roads run nearby, linking the city to downtown Dallas and to the wider metroplex.
A Balch Springs map poster is about the texture of a Texas suburb. The repeated blocks form a steady rhythm across the sheet, broken by the wider lines of the arterials and highways. It is a quiet, orderly composition, and for people who grew up or live there, every street will be familiar.
