La carte
Hokmali Map Poster & Print
Hokmali lies on the Absheron Peninsula, the finger of land that pushes into the Caspian Sea around Baku. From above, the town appears as a loose grid of residential streets and walled courtyards spread over dry, lightly undulating terrain, with larger roads linking it to the capital and to the neighbouring settlements of the peninsula.
The landscape shapes the map more than any single monument. Semi-arid ground, scattered gardens and long straight access roads give the drawing an open, airy feel, with dense clusters of houses thinning out into empty land. The lines are simple, but the pattern of lanes and plots has a character that belongs to the Absheron rather than to the city next door.
A Hokmali map poster keeps that quiet geometry in clean black and white: the grid of lanes, the roads heading east towards Baku, and the open spaces in between. It suits anyone with family roots in the area, or anyone who has spent time on the peninsula and wants a record of the place that isn't the familiar Baku skyline.

Courtyard streets
Residential blocks are made up of lanes and walled plots, so the street pattern reads as a fine, irregular mesh rather than a strict urban grid.
Roads to Baku
Main roads run out of town towards the capital and nearby settlements, drawing long, confident lines across the otherwise quiet terrain.
