Rail-aligned downtown
The historic centre is laid out in relation to the railway, so its blocks sit at an angle set by the tracks and not by the compass. The detail is subtle but clear on the map.

La carte
Terrell Map Poster & Print
Terrell lies in Kaufman County, east of Dallas, along Interstate 20 and the older route of US 80. The town grew up beside the railway in the 1870s, and on a map the downtown grid still lines up with the tracks. Streets form neat blocks around the historic centre, while newer neighbourhoods and commercial strips spread toward the highways.
During the Second World War, Terrell hosted the No. 1 British Flying Training School, where Royal Air Force cadets learned to fly under the Texas sky. A museum at the municipal airport now tells that story. The airport's runways are a clear feature on the edge of the town map.
A Terrell map poster presents a classic Texas railroad town. The grid aligned with the rail line, the airfield and the highways cut through open prairie together make a structured, readable composition. In black and white the angle between the downtown grid and the surrounding road network gives the drawing a subtle dynamic.

Wartime airfield
The municipal airport, once home to a British flight training school, lies on the edge of town. Its runways add long, sharp lines to the composition.
Highway corridors
Interstate 20 and US 80 run past and through the town, linking it to Dallas. On a poster they appear as strong, straight strokes across the surrounding prairie.

Une carte qui a du sens
