The map
Hà Giang lies in the far north of Vietnam, in a valley where the Lô River flows south out of the mountains. The terrain controls the city's shape. Streets fill the flat ground along the river and reach a short way into side valleys, while steep, forested slopes rise on every side and appear empty on the map.
The city is best known as the starting point for journeys into the high karst country to the north, including the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark. The road loop through that area has made Hà Giang a regular stop for travellers heading into the mountains, often by motorbike.
A Hà Giang map poster shows a city that follows its river. The Lô runs down the middle of the frame, bridges link the two banks, and the built-up area forms a narrow band that follows the valley floor. It is a strong, vertical composition that suits the landscape it comes from.

Hà Giang is confined by mountains, so its streets form a long, narrow shape. The empty ground around it indicates steep slopes where building stops.
The main road leaves the city toward the northern highlands and the karst plateau. For many travellers it is the start of the well-known mountain loop.

Why Hà Giang
Many people who have ridden the Hà Giang loop want something to remember the start of the trip by. A map of the city in its river valley is a quieter souvenir than a photograph, and it lasts longer on a wall.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be changed, for example with the dates of your journey. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
