The map
Handeni is a town in the Tanga Region of northeastern Tanzania, well inland from the Indian Ocean coast. It serves as the administrative centre for its district. On the map it is a small settlement where main roads cross, surrounded by a wide area of farms, scattered homesteads and bush.
The town has no strong physical frame such as a coastline or a large river, so its shape comes from the roads. A few main routes meet near the centre, and shorter streets and footpaths branch off them into residential areas. At the edges the pattern loosens into tracks between fields and village clusters.
A Handeni map poster is a quiet composition: a small, dense centre with lines reaching outward across open land. It suits people who know the town personally, from growing up or working there, and who want a record of the place as it actually looks from above.
The main roads meet near the town centre, and most of the built-up area sits close to that crossing, giving the poster a clear focus.
From the main roads, smaller streets and paths spread outward in irregular patterns, typical of a town that grew gradually.
Beyond the town the map opens into farmland and scattered settlements, leaving plenty of white space around the central cluster.

Why Handeni
Handeni is not a place people usually find on printed maps, which makes a poster of it more personal. It suits those who were born there, who served there, or who spent years working in the district.
Add a name, a date or a short phrase to the title and subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates line. There are five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, available as downloadable HD files or as a printed poster.
