The map

About this Huashan map poster

This Huashan lies in the far north of Jiangsu, in the area around Xuzhou, and should not be confused with the famous mountain of the same name in Shaanxi. The landscape here is the opposite of a peak. It is the level North China Plain, divided into rectangular fields, with irrigation channels and straight country roads.

The town itself appears on the map as a compact cluster of streets where local roads meet. Its blocks are practical and mostly regular, and the edges blend into villages and farmland rather than stopping at a clear boundary. Water channels, typical of this well-irrigated region, add thin lines that cross the pattern at intervals.

A Huashan map poster is a study in rural geometry. The town gives the sheet a dense centre, and the surrounding field boundaries continue its lines outward, so the whole print has an even, woven texture. It is a quiet design for anyone with family roots in northern Jiangsu who wants a reminder of home that is simple and exact.

01

Town centre

The built-up core forms a compact, mostly regular grid where local roads meet. On the print it is the darkest, most detailed area of the sheet.

02

Field pattern

Rectangular plots of the north Jiangsu plain surround the town. Their straight borders turn the edges of the map into a fine, orderly pattern.

03

Irrigation lines

Channels and ditches, typical of this farming region, run through the fields. They add thin, continuous strokes that break up the grid in places.

Why Huashan

A map that means something

Small towns rarely appear on posters, and that is exactly why a map of one means so much to the people who come from it. A print of Huashan marks a specific place on the plain and gives it the same care as any capital.

The title and subtitle can be changed, for example to include the village or family name, and the coordinates line is editable too. Pick one of five styles and order either $9 HD files in six sizes or a matte-paper print shipped from a local partner.
