The map

About this Indāpur map poster

From above, Indāpur is mostly about one straight line. The Pune–Solapur highway runs through the town, and the older lanes branch off it in short, uneven strokes. Around this core the built area frays into farm tracks and field boundaries. On paper the town looks compact and dense, with open country pressing in on every side.

To the north lie the backwaters of the Ujani reservoir on the Bhima, one of Maharashtra's largest bodies of stored water. On a monochrome map these appear as broad pale shapes with irregular edges, cutting into the farmland. The water is the reason the surrounding taluka is known for irrigated sugarcane, and it gives a map of the area an outline you would not expect this far inland.

An Indāpur map poster keeps all of this in a few tones: the heavy highway line, the tight cluster of the old town, the looser grid of newer housing and the quiet mass of the fields. It is a plain, honest picture of a Deccan market town, the sort of place people pass through on the highway without knowing its shape.

01

The highway spine

The Pune–Solapur road crosses the frame as the boldest line on the map. The town's commercial streets line up along it, and quieter residential lanes branch off to either side.

02

Ujani backwaters

North of town the reservoir's backwaters spread in wide, irregular inlets. In black and white they read as calm open shapes against the fine texture of the surrounding farmland.

03

Field geometry

Beyond the built-up edge, cart tracks and plot boundaries make a loose patchwork. It shows how closely daily life here is tied to irrigated agriculture.

Why Indāpur

A map that means something

For anyone who grew up in Indāpur or still has family in the taluka, the map puts home into a frame: the highway you took to Pune, the lanes around the market, the water to the north. It is a quiet reminder that sits well in a flat far from the Deccan.

You can change the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, so the poster can carry a family name or a year. There are five styles to choose from. Classic black & white keeps things crisp, while Sand warms the fields and water.
