About this Iskandar map poster
Iskandar lies in Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, in the valley of the Chirchiq river as it runs down from the mountains toward the capital. The land here is heavily irrigated, and on the map the settlement is surrounded by a patchwork of field boundaries and channels, with the mountains rising to the north-east.
The street plan is straightforward: long rows of houses with gardens set along roads that follow the valley. Canals and irrigation ditches run beside many of these streets, so the map has a regular, almost striped texture that reflects how water is managed across the whole valley.
