The map
Jalilabad lies in the south of Azerbaijan, on open lowland between the Mughan plain and the foothills leading towards the Talysh Mountains. Its centre is laid out in a fairly regular grid of wide streets, with long residential blocks and gardens behind the houses. Around the town, the map shows a patchwork of farmland and irrigation canals.
The town was once known as Astrakhan-Bazar and was later renamed in honour of the writer Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, founder of the satirical magazine Molla Nasraddin. It is the administrative centre of its district and an agricultural hub for the surrounding villages.
A Jalilabad map poster shows an orderly town set within a wide rural landscape. The straight streets give it structure, the gardens add texture, and the fields beyond open the frame. It is a considered choice for anyone from southern Azerbaijan.

Behind many houses lie long gardens and yards. They loosen the density of the blocks and give the residential areas a softer texture on the map.
Fields and canals stretch beyond the town on every side, forming a wide rural margin that frames the compact settlement.

Why Jalilabad
Jalilabad is home to many people who have since moved to Baku or abroad. A map poster of the streets they grew up on is a quiet way to keep that connection visible.
You can write your own title and subtitle, perhaps in Azerbaijani, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles and download the HD files for $9, or order a framed print.
