The map
Jingzhi lies in Shandong province in eastern China, in a largely agricultural area of low plains and gentle hills. From above, the town appears as a compact grid of streets with a clear main road running through it, surrounded by fields and villages connected by straight rural roads. Newer residential and industrial areas sit along its edges, where the town meets the countryside.
Like many towns in Shandong, Jingzhi combines a local commercial centre with the farming landscape around it. The province is one of China's most important agricultural regions, and the patchwork of fields and village clusters seen on the map reflects that. Roads link the town with the larger cities of the region.
A Jingzhi map poster shows this simple structure clearly. The central streets form the main focus, while the grid of fields and small villages fills the space around them. Printed in black and white, it becomes a calm, orderly image of a Chinese town set within its farmland.
The central streets follow a mostly regular layout, forming a compact cluster that stands out as the densest part of the poster.
Small villages are scattered through the surrounding fields, appearing as tight groups of streets that repeat across the map and add rhythm to the edges.
Straight roads cross the farmland between the town and its villages, creating a quiet geometric background that frames the centre of the composition.
