About this Jumunjin map poster
Jumunjin is a coastal town within Gangneung in Gangwon Province, facing the East Sea. From above, the coastline dominates: a long, fairly straight shore interrupted by a working harbour enclosed by breakwaters, with sandy beaches stretching away to either side. Low hills rise behind the town to the west.
The streets are packed between the port and the hills. Lanes around the harbour and the fish market are short and dense, while the main coastal road runs parallel to the shore and links Jumunjin with Gangneung to the south. The town is known for its seafood market and for its squid and fish catches.
Jumunjin also became a pilgrimage spot for fans of Korean pop culture: a breakwater here appeared in the drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, and the nearby Hyangho beach bus stop featured in BTS album artwork. A Jumunjin map poster shows the harbour walls that made those images possible.
