The map
Kāliyāganj is a town in the Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal, in the flat, fertile country of North Bengal. From above, the town is a dense core of lanes and small blocks, surrounded by a wide expanse of fields and scattered villages that stretch toward the horizon without a single hill to interrupt them.
The town grew as a local trading and market centre, and that role is visible in its layout. Roads converge on the centre from the surrounding countryside, and a railway line passes through, linking Kāliyāganj with other towns of the region. Between those main routes, narrow lanes fill in the space in an irregular, organic way.
A Kāliyāganj map poster preserves that everyday geography: the busy knot of streets at the centre, the lines of road and rail heading outward, and the fine texture of rural paths across the plain. It suits anyone who grew up here or keeps family ties to the district and wants the place on the wall.
A rail line runs through the town, a long straight stroke across the map that connects Kāliyāganj with the wider network of North Bengal.
The heart of town is a tightly packed web of lanes and small plots, typical of a market town that grew outward over time without a formal plan.
Around the town the land is flat and agricultural, so the map fades gently into fields, ponds and village roads rather than hard boundaries.
