The map
Katabi is a town council in Wakiso District, Uganda, on the stretch of land between Kampala and Entebbe. From above, its most prominent feature is the main road, which carries traffic between the capital and the international airport. Residential streets branch off it and wander down toward the lake, following the gentle slopes of the land.
The town has grown quickly as people settle within reach of both Entebbe and Kampala. The map shows the result: newer, looser networks of streets alongside older clusters, with open land, gardens and patches of wetland between them. The shoreline of Lake Victoria, with its bays and peninsulas, shapes the edges.
A Katabi map poster contrasts the busy line of the road with the wide calm of the lake. In black and white, the irregular coast gives the composition a natural outline, and the roads growing out from the main route add movement. It is a map of a place that is still taking shape.

Africa's largest lake forms the town's edge, with bays and headlands giving the coast an irregular, almost hand-drawn profile.
Branching streets reach out from the main road into formerly open land, and their loose, uneven pattern shows a town expanding outward.

Why Katabi
Katabi means something to people who live between Entebbe and Kampala, or who remember the lake shore from a posting or a visit. The combination of road and water makes a clear, calm design.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a house or a year. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
