The map
Kikinda is in northern Banat in Vojvodina, Serbia, on the flat Pannonian Plain near the borders with Romania and Hungary. From above, it has the regular grid typical of towns resettled in the eighteenth century under Habsburg rule: wide, straight streets, large blocks and a central square. Beyond the edge of town, the fields form long rectangles that stretch to the horizon, and a canal crosses the plain.
Kikinda is known for Kika, a nearly complete mammoth skeleton found at a nearby clay pit in the 1990s and now displayed in the town museum. The town also has a rare horse-powered dry mill, the Suvača, and holds an annual pumpkin festival. The surrounding plain is some of the most productive farmland in Serbia.
A Kikinda map poster shows how flat the land is. With no hills or winding rivers, the structure comes from human planning: the orderly town grid, the straight roads leaving it, and the lines of fields. The result is quiet, geometric and very clean, suited to a minimalist monochrome style.

Beyond the town, long rectangular fields and straight farm roads cover the flat plain, giving the map a precise, almost technical texture.
A canal crosses the plain near the town. It is one of the few curved or water features in a landscape otherwise defined by straight lines.

Why Kikinda
Kikinda suits people from Banat and the Serbian diaspora, fans of planned towns, and anyone who likes quiet, geometric maps. On a flat plain the grid becomes the whole design, and the poster feels calm and architectural.
