The map
Milange sits in the north-west of Zambezia Province, right on Mozambique's border with Malawi. From above, the town is a loose arrangement of streets and plots set in green, hilly country, with the main road running through the centre toward the border crossing. Beyond the built-up area, small farms and tracks spread out in an irregular, fine-grained pattern.
Across the border rises the Mulanje massif in Malawi, one of the most prominent mountains in the region, and its presence is felt in the high ground and streams around Milange. The border itself is a quiet line on the map, but it shapes the town's life, drawing trade and traffic between the two countries.
A Milange map poster is less about dense blocks than about the relationship between a town and its terrain: a central road, a scatter of neighbourhoods, and the rising land that frames them. For those with ties to the area, it is a way of holding a specific corner of Mozambique in view.
The main road leads directly to the Malawi border, so the town's plan feels oriented toward the crossing and the traffic that moves through it.
Milange lies in hilly, well-watered country. On a map, its streets give way quickly to a patchwork of small plots, paths and streams.
Just across the border stands Mount Mulanje, a large granite massif in Malawi. Its bulk defines the horizon and anchors any wider view of the area.

Why Milange
Milange is a place people leave for work, study or family, and it rarely appears on anything but the broadest maps. A detailed print of its streets gives a small town the same careful attention usually reserved for capitals.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to change, so the poster can mark a birthplace, a posting or a return journey. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand. Then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
