The mile grid
Arterial roads divide the city into large one-mile squares, a legacy of the land survey system. Suburban streets curve and loop inside each square.

Il-mappa
Goodyear Map Poster & Print
Goodyear lies in the West Valley of metropolitan Phoenix. From above, it follows the one-mile section grid that underlies most of central Arizona. Wide arterial roads form large squares, and within them curving suburban streets and cul-de-sacs fill the land. Interstate 10 crosses the northern part of the city. To the south, the grid gives way to the Estrella Mountains and the Gila River floodplain.
The city takes its name from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which bought land here in the early twentieth century to grow long-staple cotton for tyre cord. The company's farming settlement grew into a town, and in recent decades into one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the region. Goodyear Ballpark hosts spring training for Major League Baseball.
A Goodyear map poster shows these layers at once: the agricultural section grid, the loops of newer neighbourhoods, the airport runways and the open desert slopes to the south. In black and white the contrast between planned streets and rough mountain terrain is especially striking.

Estrella Mountains
Rugged desert mountains rise to the south of the city. Their folded, empty terrain contrasts sharply with the dense residential pattern to the north.
Airport and ballpark
Phoenix Goodyear Airport's runways and the Goodyear Ballpark spring training complex both appear as clear, large geometric shapes within the grid.

Għaliex Goodyear
Mappa li tfisser xi ħaġa
Goodyear draws people who moved west for space, sun and a new start. A map of the neighbourhood where you bought your first house or spent spring training seasons is a good fit for a new living room.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a move-in date or a street name. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the desert particularly well.
