Lebanon is the county seat of Warren County in southwestern Ohio, lying between Cincinnati and Dayton. Its map shows a compact historic grid around the main crossroads, where the courthouse and older commercial streets stand, surrounded by later residential areas with curving streets and, further out, the rolling fields of the county.
The town is home to the Golden Lamb, often described as Ohio's oldest continuously operating inn, which has hosted a long list of well-known guests since the early nineteenth century. Its location on Broadway at the heart of the old grid marks the centre of the traditional town.
