Leimen Map Poster
Leimen lies just south of Heidelberg in Baden-Württemberg, on the Bergstraße, the old route along the western edge of the Odenwald. Its map shows a clear divide: to the west, flat farmland of the Upper Rhine Plain; to the east, the land rises into vineyards and then forest. The town sits on this line, its streets densest on the plain and thinning as they climb.
Leimen includes several formerly separate villages, and the map still shows separate clusters of old streets joined by newer housing and roads. A tram line links the town to Heidelberg, and the main road north runs almost continuously into the city's southern districts. Leimen is widely known as the hometown of the tennis player Boris Becker.

Vineyard slopes
Between the town and the forest, vineyard terraces cover the lower hillsides of the Bergstraße, adding fine parallel lines to the slopes.
