Il-mappa
Les Mureaux Map Poster & Print
Les Mureaux lies on the left bank of the Seine in the Yvelines, about forty kilometres west of Paris, directly across the river from Meulan-en-Yvelines. The river is the defining line on any map of the town, sweeping past its northern edge, with a bridge linking the two banks and islands dividing the channel.
Les Mureaux has a long connection with flight. Aircraft were built here in the first half of the twentieth century, and the town remains an important site for the European space industry, where major stages of the Ariane launchers are assembled. From above, the industrial zone forms a large block of broad halls and service roads, very different from the residential streets nearby.
The town grew rapidly in the second half of the twentieth century, and its map combines an older centre near the river with larger housing estates, parks and the rail line toward Paris. A Les Mureaux map poster brings these layers together, framed by the long curve of the Seine and the open land of the valley beyond.

Aerospace site
A large industrial complex tied to the Ariane launcher programme appears as broad rectangular blocks, a striking contrast to the finer grain of the residential areas.
Rail line to Paris
The railway crosses the town on its way toward Paris, a steady line that ties Les Mureaux into the wider Île-de-France network.
