Il-mappa
Mulamthuruthy sits in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, a short distance inland from the Kochi urban area. From above, it has none of the hard edges of a planned city. Roads bend around ponds, channels and fields, and houses sit loosely among dense tree cover. On a map the settlement looks like a web of lanes. There is no clear centre, only a series of junctions where the lanes meet.
Water shapes most of the drawing. The backwater country of central Kerala reaches close to the town, and narrow channels and low fields break the land into irregular pieces. The railway between Ernakulam and Kottayam crosses the area as one long, clean line. It stands out against the looser pattern of village roads. In black and white, the contrast between that rail line and the organic lanes is the defining feature.
The town has a quiet place in the history of Kerala's Syriac Christian community: a church synod held here in 1876 is still remembered by that name. A Mulamthuruthy map poster shows the ground that history grew from. It is a patient, detailed landscape, made of footpaths, water edges and small parcels of land, not grand avenues. It rewards a close look more than a quick glance.
Channels and waterlogged fields cut the land into uneven shapes, so water and ground interlock across the map instead of meeting along one clear shoreline.
The Ernakulam–Kottayam line crosses the town in a steady, gentle curve, the one truly straight element among the winding lanes and field boundaries.
Small roads branch and rejoin between homesteads, giving the map a fine, branching texture typical of settlements in lowland Kerala.

Għaliex Mulamthuruthy
For people with family roots here, this map is a record of a place that rarely appears on printed maps at all. The lanes to a parish, a home or a railway platform become something you can frame and keep in view far from Kerala.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a wedding date or a house location. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
