Peribán de Ramos lies in the highlands of western Michoacán, close to the Pico de Tancítaro, the state's highest mountain. From above, the town sits on sloping volcanic ground, with its street grid bending to follow the terrain and roads climbing away toward the orchards and pine-covered hills.
