Il-mappa
Petworth Map Poster & Print
Petworth lies in Northwest Washington, north of Columbia Heights, with Georgia Avenue as its busy spine. The map shows the city's familiar grid of numbered and alphabetically named streets. Here the grid is crossed by diagonals that meet at Grant Circle and Sherman Circle, two round parks that give the neighbourhood its most recognisable shape from above.
Most blocks are lined with early twentieth-century rowhouses and porches, built as the city expanded north onto land that had been an estate called Petworth. A Metro station on Georgia Avenue connects the neighbourhood to downtown. To the east lie the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, where President Lincoln's Cottage still stands.
A Petworth map poster captures the neighbourhood's graphic character: dense rows of parallel streets, the strong vertical of Georgia Avenue, and two circles set like punctuation marks in the grid. It is a precise, tidy map, and it rewards a close look at the alphabet of street names running east to west across it.

Georgia Avenue
The main commercial street runs north through Petworth as a long straight line, with shops, restaurants and a Metro station along it.
Alphabetical streets
East–west streets follow the District's naming sequence, so the map reads as a neat ladder of names moving north block by block across the neighbourhood.

Għaliex Petworth
Mappa li tfisser xi ħaġa
Petworth is the kind of neighbourhood people choose deliberately and stay in for years, often in one particular rowhouse on one particular block. A map poster marks that attachment, whether you still live there or have moved away from the District.
Add a title, a subtitle and a coordinates line that point to your own street, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the ordered grid especially well.
