Soba lies in the north of Kaduna State in Nigeria, in savanna country not far from Zaria, and is the headquarters of Soba Local Government Area. From above, the town has a layout typical of the region: a dense older core of compounds and narrow lanes, with newer streets running straighter and wider as the town spreads outward toward the fields.
