Few European cities show their river as clearly as Wrocław. The Oder splits into several arms here, and between them lie islands such as Ostrów Tumski and Wyspa Piasek, the oldest settled part of the city. On the map the water forms a web of channels, crossed again and again by bridges. Wrocław is often said to have more than a hundred of them.
