The Jordanne
The river runs through the town and along the old centre, giving the map a gentle curving line that separates districts and guides the eye across the print.

The map
Aurillac Map Poster & Print
Aurillac is the prefecture of Cantal, in the Auvergne, set in a valley at the edge of the ancient volcanic uplands. The Jordanne river flows through the town from the northeast, and the map follows its course: the old centre sits on the river's right bank, compact and irregular, below the Château Saint-Étienne on its rocky height.
The town is known as the birthplace of Gerbert d'Aurillac, who became Pope Sylvester II around the year 1000. Every August it hosts one of Europe's largest street-theatre festivals, filling its squares and lanes. Aurillac has also long been associated with the making of umbrellas.
An Aurillac map poster shows a town bounded by hills and led by its river. Boulevards trace the line of former walls around the old centre, newer districts climb the surrounding slopes, and the Jordanne ties it all together. The image is compact and textured, with a clear sense of place.

Château Saint-Étienne
The castle stands on a rocky rise above the old town. On the map, streets gather and climb toward it, marking the historical heart of Aurillac.
Boulevard ring
Wider roads loop around the old centre where the town's defences once stood, giving the dense medieval streets a clean, rounded outline.
