The rail spine
The railway cuts straight through town and organises everything around it. Most streets either follow the tracks or cross them, giving the map a strong linear backbone.

The map
Burhar Map Poster & Print
Burhar lies in Shahdol district in eastern Madhya Pradesh, a region shaped by the Sohagpur coalfield. On a map the town reads as a compact cluster of lanes pressed against a railway line, with the grid loosening quickly into scattered settlements, farm plots and the broad, open blocks that mark mining and industrial land.
The railway is the strongest line on the page. Streets run parallel to it or cross it at a few fixed points, so the town has a clear spine rather than a single centre. Away from the tracks, roads thin out into single strokes that lead toward villages and collieries, leaving large quiet areas that print as clean white space.
A Burhar map poster shows a working town without decoration: the rail corridor, the tight core, the looser edges where town becomes coal country. For people from the Shahdol area, or families whose working lives were tied to the mines and the railway, that plain arrangement of lines carries a lot of meaning.

Compact old core
Near the station the lanes grow dense and irregular, a small knot of short streets that prints as the darkest, most detailed part of the poster.
Coalfield surroundings
Beyond the town, roads spread thinly across open ground linked to the Sohagpur coalfield, so the edges of the map fall into wide, calm areas of white.

Why Burhar
A map that means something
Burhar is the kind of place people carry with them after they move away: a station, a colony, a set of familiar roads. A clean map of it makes a quiet reminder of home, of a first job, or of a parent's years on the railway or in the mines.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date or a family name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files or order a matte print, framed if you like.
