Frankenberg Map Poster & Print
Frankenberg, often called Frankenberg (Eder) to distinguish it from other towns of the same name, lies in northern Hesse on a slope above the Eder river. Its best-known building is the half-timbered town hall, which dates from the early sixteenth century. With its cluster of pointed turrets, it is one of the most photographed buildings of its kind in Germany.
On a map, the old town sits on higher ground, with narrow, irregular streets that follow the hill. The river valley runs below it, carrying the railway and main roads.
