The Neyyar river
The river that gives the town its name loops along the settlement's edge. It draws a smooth, organic curve that stands out against the tight tangle of residential lanes.

The map
Neyyāttinkara sits in the far south of Kerala, a short distance inland from the Arabian Sea and just south of the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram. The town takes its name from the Neyyar, the river that curves along its edge before heading down to the coast. From above, the streets look fine-grained and irregular. Houses spread out among coconut groves instead of packing into blocks, so the settlement looks more like a web than a grid.
The main road south towards Kanyakumari cuts through the town as one steady line, and the rest of the street network feeds into it at odd angles. Small roads follow the ridges and the paddy edges. The river adds a soft, looping boundary that is easy to spot even at small scale. A Neyyāttinkara map poster shows that mix well: one firm axis, a winding river, and a scatter of minor lanes filling the land between them.
The town is known for its Sree Krishna Swamy Temple. It also has a place in the history of Travancore, where local tradition links it to the young Marthanda Varma. It was the home town of the journalist Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai, who is remembered for his stand on press freedom. On paper, that history stays quiet. What you see is a place shaped by water, gentle slopes and a road that has always led south.
The river that gives the town its name loops along the settlement's edge. It draws a smooth, organic curve that stands out against the tight tangle of residential lanes.
The main road towards Kanyakumari runs through the town as a single confident line. It is the backbone that most of the smaller streets branch from.
Away from the main road, streets thin out into short, winding lanes between plantations and homesteads. They create a delicate, almost lace-like texture in black and white.

Why Neyyāttinkara
For people who grew up in Neyyāttinkara or have family there, this map has a familiar pattern: the river bend, the road to the south, the way lanes vanish into the green. It makes a quiet, personal piece for a home far from Kerala.
You can add a family name, a date or the town's coordinates to the title and subtitle. Then choose one of five styles, from Classic black and white to the warmer Sand or the darker Noir, to suit the room it will hang in.
