Alam Damai is a residential area in the Cheras district on the southeastern side of Kuala Lumpur. Like much of this part of the city, it was built on undulating ground, and its streets follow the contours of the land in rows of terraced and linked houses.
From above, the neighbourhood appears as a set of parallel residential roads arranged in small clusters, connected by a few main routes to the larger roads of Cheras. The pattern is typical of Malaysian suburban development, with its long rows of houses and tidy back lanes.
An Alam Damai map poster turns these repeating rows into an orderly, rhythmic image. Hills and green patches interrupt the pattern here and there, giving the print variety, while the surrounding roads place the neighbourhood firmly within the wider city.
Long parallel streets of houses form a repeated pattern, the clearest graphic feature of the neighbourhood when seen from above.
The streets bend to follow the hilly terrain of Cheras, so the rows curve and shift direction rather than forming a rigid grid.
A few main roads connect the neighbourhood to Cheras and the rest of Kuala Lumpur, framing the residential streets within the map.
