Ko e mape
Borovets lies on the northern slopes of the Rila mountains in Bulgaria, above the town of Samokov. On a map the resort is small. A compact group of hotels and chalets sits among dense pine forest, and a road leads in from the valley below. Ski runs cut through the trees on the slopes above, climbing towards the high ground of Rila.
Borovets is Bulgaria's oldest mountain resort. It began in the late nineteenth century as a hunting retreat for the Bulgarian royal family, and some early buildings still stand. Today a gondola climbs towards the upper slopes, and the area is a starting point for trails towards Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans.
A Borovets map poster shows a small resort surrounded by forest, with the ski runs as pale lines through dark woods and the mountains rising beyond. It is a quiet, textured map, well suited to people who have skied here or walked the Rila trails in summer, and to anyone with ties to Bulgaria.
Dense pine forest surrounds the resort on all sides. On the map it forms a rich background texture, with the village and runs appearing as clearings within it.
Ski runs cut through the forest on the slopes above the resort. They show as clear pale lines climbing upward and give the map its main sense of direction.
A single road climbs to Borovets from the lower valley near Samokov. On paper it is the main connection to the outside world, winding up through the forest to the resort.

Ko e ha Borovets
Borovets holds memories for many skiers, from school trips to first ski lessons in Bulgaria. A poster of the resort among its pines keeps that mountain feeling close and makes a thoughtful gift.
Add a title and subtitle, in Bulgarian or English, and keep the coordinates. Sand and Paper suit the forest, while Noir makes it more dramatic. Classic black & white and Blueprint complete the five styles, all available as HD downloads or prints.
