Ko e mape
Dārayyā lies just southwest of central Damascus, close enough that the city's suburbs now press against it, yet it has always kept its own identity. From above, the town appears as a compact, densely built centre with narrow, irregular streets, surrounded by a looser pattern of newer blocks and the field boundaries of the agricultural land around it.
The town sits on the edge of the Ghouta, the irrigated plain that has fed Damascus for centuries, and Dārayyā was long known for its vineyards and grapes. A Dārayyā map poster shows this transition clearly: the tight weave of old lanes gives way to straighter roads and plots as the map moves outward.
In recent history the town became widely known for the hardship it endured during the Syrian war, when much of it was heavily damaged. For many people, a map of its streets is a way of holding on to the place as it was laid out and lived in, independent of what happened later.
The centre is a close web of short, winding streets, typical of older Levantine towns, standing out sharply against the more regular development around it.
The agricultural plain surrounding Damascus reaches the town's outskirts, and field lines and farm tracks fill the spaces between built-up areas.
Major roads link the town northeast towards the capital, and the gap between the two has narrowed as both have grown outward.

Ko e ha Dārayyā
For people from Dārayyā, especially those living far from it, a map of the town can be a quiet and personal reminder of home, its streets drawn as they are rather than as they appear in the news.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with the family's neighbourhood or a significant year. Paper and Sand give a softer, warmer result, while Classic black and white keeps the dense old lanes crisp and readable.
