A long seaside town stretched along the Gulf of Thailand, its streets pressed between the beach, the railway and the highway.

Hua Hin runs in a narrow band along the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand, about two hundred kilometres south of Bangkok. From above, the town is long rather than wide. The beach forms its eastern edge, Phetkasem Road runs parallel inland, and the southern railway line follows a similar course. Short streets join these lines like the rungs of a ladder, with hotels and houses filling the gaps.
Hua Hin became Thailand's first royal seaside resort in the early twentieth century. Klai Kangwon Palace, the royal summer residence, still stands by the sea on the northern side of town. The railway station, with its wooden royal waiting pavilion, is one of the best-known stations in the country. To the south, the hill of Khao Takiab rises beside the bay.
A Hua Hin map poster suits the town's long, narrow shape, with the coast running the length of the sheet and the street pattern stacked beside it. The sea prints as a calm open field. The rhythm of parallel roads and short cross streets gives the design a clean, measured quality that works well in a bright room.
The long, gently curving shoreline forms one side of the map. The beach runs unbroken for kilometres, and the town is built right up to it.
The southern line runs through the middle of town. The historic station and its royal pavilion stand beside the tracks, close to the old centre.
South of the centre, a small hill on a headland breaks the coastline. Its outline pushes into the sea and closes the view along the beach.

Ko e ha Hua Hin
Hua Hin is where many Bangkok families spend their weekends, and where many people from abroad have chosen to live. A map with a personal title, a subtitle such as a wedding date or holiday year, and the coordinates line makes a quiet souvenir of the coast.
Blueprint and Sand work especially well for a seaside town, and Classic black and white, Noir and Paper are also available. The $9 digital files come in six print sizes, or you can order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
