Kazo Map Poster & Print
Kazo is a city in northeastern Saitama Prefecture, on the flat Kantō Plain. Its current boundaries date from a 2010 merger with Kisai, Kitakawabe and Ōtone, and together they cover a wide area of farmland. The Tone River, one of Japan's largest rivers, forms the northern border, and its embankments show as long raised lines.
At the far northern end lies the Watarase retarding basin, a huge wetland built to hold floodwater, close to where four prefectures meet. On a map it is a broad, soft area of reed beds and water, larger than much of the town itself.
Kazo is known for its giant carp streamers, among the largest ever made, flown each spring. A Kazo map poster sets the town's modest street grids among rice paddies, rivers and embankments, and shows a rural side of the Tokyo region that many people never see.
