Kōtekāra lies on the coast of Dakshina Kannada, a short distance south of Mangaluru and beyond the mouth of the Netravati River. Its streets do not form a grid on the map. Lanes and paths weave between houses, gardens and coconut groves instead. They follow the gentle rises of the coastal land between the main highway and the sea.
This is the typical texture of coastal Karnataka, where houses spread out through the greenery instead of packing into blocks. The national highway running north to Mangaluru and south toward Kerala provides the one strong straight line. The shoreline to the west gives the map a clear, natural edge.
A Kōtekāra map poster suits people who know this coast well. They include families rooted in the area, students and professionals in Mangaluru, and those living abroad who return for festivals and holidays. In black and white, the winding lanes form a fine, organic pattern that contrasts gracefully with the long line of the sea.
The Arabian Sea shoreline runs along the west. It is a clean natural line that anchors the map and contrasts with the dense lanes inland.
Narrow roads and paths wander between houses and gardens. They create the irregular, finely detailed network typical of coastal Karnataka towns.
The main coastal highway linking Mangaluru and Kerala runs through the area. It is the strongest straight line on the map.

Ko e ha Kōtekāra
Coastal towns like Kōtekāra hold strong family and community ties, and many people who grew up here now live far away. A map poster brings that familiar ground home, with enough detail to trace a lane to a particular house.
