Lagdo Map Poster & Print

Lagdo lies in the North Region of Cameroon, on the Benue River upstream of Garoua. Its defining feature is the Lagdo Dam, built in the 1980s, which created a large reservoir that now dominates the map, with an irregular shoreline reaching into the surrounding savanna.

The dam provides hydroelectric power for the northern part of the country, and the lake supports fishing and irrigated farming. The town itself is a modest cluster of streets near the water, with roads leading toward Garoua and to villages along the shore.

A Lagdo map poster is mostly about water. The broad reservoir, the narrow line of the dam and the winding course of the Benue below it create a striking composition, with the town as a small, detailed point beside the lake.

Lagdo Reservoir

The large lake created by the dam fills much of the map, its irregular shoreline tracing inlets and bays into the savanna around it.

02

The dam

The dam across the Benue forms a short, strong line between the reservoir above and the river below, the heart of the town's identity.

03

Benue River downstream

Below the dam, the Benue continues toward Garoua in a winding course, adding a flowing line to the lower part of the map.

For people from Lagdo, or anyone who has worked on or visited the dam and lake, the map captures the place's unusual shape: a small town beside a vast body of water.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose from five styles. Blueprint makes the reservoir and dam look like an engineering drawing, while Sand gives the savanna landscape warmth.
