Ko e mape
Leninogorsk grew up in the 1950s with the development of the large oil fields of south-eastern Tatarstan, and it received town status in 1955. Its map shows the result of that planned growth: broad main streets, regular residential blocks from the Soviet decades and public squares laid out with a clear sense of order.
The ground here is not flat. The town lies in the hilly country of the Bugulma-Belebey Upland, and its outer streets bend around slopes and small river valleys. Beyond the built-up area the map shows a network of tracks and service roads crossing fields and woods, many of them tied to the oil industry that shaped the town.
Before it became a town, the settlement was a village called Novaya Pismyanka, and the step from rural past to industrial present is part of what makes the plan interesting. A Leninogorsk map poster brings these layers together, showing the ordered centre, the newer districts and the hills that frame them.
Wide avenues and regular blocks laid out from the 1950s onward form the heart of the town, a clear geometric core that anchors the poster.
The town lies in the rolling Bugulma-Belebey Upland, and streets on the outskirts curve with the slopes and valleys, softening the grid at its edges.
Beyond the town, a web of service roads and tracks crosses the countryside, a reminder of the oil industry that brought the town into being.

Ko e ha Leninogorsk
For families whose parents or grandparents came to work in the oil fields, Leninogorsk is the story of a town built almost from scratch. A map of it records that effort and the streets where those lives unfolded.
