Ko e mape
Madhugiri sits in Tumakuru district on the Deccan plateau of southern Karnataka, and its map is defined by one dominant feature: the great granite hill known as Madhugiri Betta, which rises directly beside the town. Streets pack into the flatter ground at its base, and the rock mass itself appears on the map as a blank, roadless shape that the town curves around.
Madhugiri Betta is often described as one of the largest monolithic hills in Asia, and its slopes carry the remains of a fort whose walls and gateways climb toward the summit. From above, the contrast is striking: a dense, irregular town on one side, bare rock on the other, and the old route to the top tracing a thin line up the hill.
Beyond the town, the landscape is typical of this part of the plateau, with open farmland, scattered rocky outcrops and man-made reservoirs, locally called tanks, that store monsoon rain through the dry months. Roads leave town in several directions toward neighbouring towns in the district. A Madhugiri map poster shows how closely settlement and stone sit together here.
The monolithic granite hill stands right next to the town and reads on the map as a large empty form, a natural landmark around which the streets arrange themselves.
Fortifications climb the slopes of the hill, and the path to the summit is one of the few lines crossing the rock, linking the town to its historic high ground.
Reservoirs built to catch seasonal rain dot the surrounding countryside, appearing as smooth shapes among the fields and giving the edges of the map rhythm and contrast.

Ko e ha Madhugiri
Few small towns have a single feature as strong as Madhugiri's hill, and that makes the map unusually graphic on a wall. It works well for people who grew up in Tumakuru district, for trekkers who climbed the fort, or for anyone drawn to places where geology shapes the town.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, and the map comes in five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Get the digital HD files for $9, or order a matte printed poster, framed or unframed, shipped from partners in over thirty countries.
