Ko e mape
Pakur is the headquarters of Pakur district in the Santhal Pargana division of Jharkhand, close to the border with West Bengal. From above, the town gathers around a railway line and a handful of main roads, with dense lanes near the centre and a looser spread of homes, ponds and fields toward the edges.
The area is known across eastern India for its stone. Quarries in the surrounding district supply black stone chips used in construction, and the trade has left its mark on the land, with roads and tracks leading out toward the workings. To the west, the terrain rises toward the Rajmahal Hills, giving the flat plain around the town a firm backdrop.
A Pakur map poster turns a working town into a clean graphic. The railway provides a strong line through the frame, the older streets supply fine texture, and the rural roads running outward give the composition a sense of reach beyond the town itself, as if the map continues past the edges of the paper.
A railway line passes through Pakur and connects it to the wider network of eastern India, drawing a steady line across the poster that the town has grown along.
Stone quarrying in the surrounding district shows up as roads and tracks leading out of town toward the working areas, a quiet record of the trade Pakur is known for.
Near the centre, narrow lanes pack closely together, producing the darkest and most detailed part of the map against the more open ground at the edges.
