Ratchaburi lies in western Thailand, roughly 100 kilometres south-west of Bangkok, on the banks of the Mae Klong River. It is the capital of a province of the same name, which stretches from the lowland plains near the Gulf of Thailand to the hills along the border with Myanmar.
The city centre sits on the riverbank. Near the market and the old town the streets form a grid, and newer districts spread outward along the highways. On the map the Mae Klong makes a clear, broad curve through the city, crossed by several bridges. Low limestone hills rise just to the west, known for their caves and temples.
Ratchaburi is famous across Thailand for its large glazed ceramic jars, often decorated with dragons, which have been made here for generations. The province also includes the Damnoen Saduak floating market. A Ratchaburi map poster focuses on the city itself, with the river as its spine and the hills forming a quiet edge.
The river bends through the centre of Ratchaburi, dividing the city and linking it to the sea. On the poster it forms a bold, sweeping curve.
The old market district clusters close to the water, and its streets are more densely packed than those of the newer neighbourhoods further out.
Limestone hills rise west of the city, with caves and temples on their slopes. They mark the transition from flat plain to higher ground.

Ko e ha Ratchaburi
Ratchaburi appeals to people with family roots in western Thailand and to travellers who know it from trips to the floating markets or the ceramic workshops. The curve of the river gives the poster a natural centre of gravity.
