Xunsi is a town in the south of Sichuan Province, China, in the hilly country near the borders with Yunnan and Guizhou. From above, the landscape is dominated by ridges and valleys, and the town has grown where the terrain allows, along the valley floor and the roads that follow it.
The built-up area is compact and elongated, with streets running parallel to the valley and buildings climbing the lower slopes. Beyond the town, the map shows a patchwork of terraced fields, forest and scattered villages, connected by roads that twist and turn to follow the contours of the land.
