Ridge roads
The main roads follow the high ground in long curves. They form the backbone of the map, and most settlement is arranged along them.

About this Nkwerre map poster
Nkwerre is a town in Imo State in southeastern Nigeria, in the undulating country of the Orlu area. From above, the map has few straight lines. Roads follow ridges and valleys, and houses and compounds line them instead of forming a single dense centre.
The area is green and farmed, with scattered woodland and small streams between the settled ridges. On the map, this creates a pattern of branching lines. Main roads connect to neighbouring towns, and smaller lanes lead off toward villages and family compounds.
A Nkwerre map poster shows a settlement shaped by terrain and community rather than a planned grid. The lines are relaxed and branching, spread evenly across the frame. This makes a gentle, detailed image, and people from the town will recognise the roads they know.

Branching lanes
Smaller roads split off toward villages and compounds. They create a tree-like pattern that fills the frame with fine, irregular detail.
Valley gaps
Between the ridges, lower ground has fewer roads. These gaps give the map room to breathe and show the rolling shape of the land.
