Anastácio Map Poster & Print
Anastácio sits on the Aquidauana River in Mato Grosso do Sul, directly opposite the city of Aquidauana, to which it is linked by bridges. The two towns form a single urban area split by the water, and on a map the river runs between them as a winding band, with Anastácio's grid of streets laid out on the western bank.
This is the threshold of the Pantanal, the vast wetland that stretches west toward Bolivia and Paraguay, and the country beyond town becomes flatter and more open, crossed by roads and ranch tracks. Cattle ranching has long been central to the local economy, and the land use shows on the map as large, sparsely divided plots.
An Anastácio map poster frames the town together with its river and its twin, which gives the composition a strong central line and two distinct grids facing each other. It is a fitting piece for residents, for families from the region and for travellers who crossed the Aquidauana on their way into the Pantanal.

Bridges to the twin city
Road crossings connect the two banks, short straight strokes across the water that tie the two paired street grids together into one composition.
Gateway to the Pantanal
West of town the land opens into flat ranch country leading toward the wetlands, leaving wide, calm spaces around the edge of the map.
