Chiffa Map Poster & Print
Chiffa is a town in Blida Province in northern Algeria, on the southern edge of the Mitidja, the fertile plain behind Algiers. On a map it sits at a clear boundary. To the north lies a regular pattern of roads, orchards and fields. To the south the steep, folded terrain of the Blidean Atlas rises abruptly above the town.
The Chiffa river comes out of the mountains here after cutting through the Chiffa gorges, a narrow, dramatic ravine that the road south toward Médéa follows. The gorges are known for their Barbary macaques, which gather near the stream at the Ruisseau des Singes, one of the best-known natural spots in the region.
The town itself has a grid of streets typical of towns on the Mitidja, with the river running along its edge. A Chiffa map poster captures the strength of that contrast: calm, orderly lines on the plain give way to the tight bends of the river and road as they disappear into the mountains.
