Chorfa is a town in the Bouira province of Algeria, on the southern side of the Djurdjura range, where the mountains fall towards a broad agricultural valley. The town sits on the lower ground. Its streets are packed around a few main roads, and fields and groves spread out on every side.
From above, the contrast is plain. The centre is a dense block of short streets. Beyond it, the roads straighten and head across open land towards neighbouring towns and the villages higher up the slopes. To the north the pattern thins out as the terrain rises towards the mountains.
