The Kastro
Chorio's fortified core is built as a closed ring of houses, an enclosed pattern that is one of the most distinctive street shapes in the Cyclades.

Kimolos Map Poster & Print
Kimolos lies immediately northeast of Milos in the western Cyclades, separated from it by a strait only about a kilometre wide at its narrowest. The island is small and roughly rounded, with a dry, hilly interior and a coastline of small bays. The uninhabited islet of Polyaigos, larger than it first appears, lies just to the southeast.
The main settlement, Chorio, sits on a rise a short walk inland from the port of Psathi. At its core is the Kastro, a fortified quarter whose outer houses form a defensive wall, and on a map its tight, enclosed geometry stands out clearly. From there a few roads lead out to beaches and hamlets along the coast.
Kimolos gave its name to cimolite, the white clay prized in antiquity as a cleansing earth, and mining has shaped parts of its landscape. In the west stands Skiadi, a mushroom-shaped rock formation that has become a local landmark. A Kimolos map poster captures the island in full, from the narrow strait with Milos to the compact village at its centre.

Strait with Milos
A narrow channel separates Kimolos from Milos, and including both coastlines in the frame shows how closely the two islands sit together.
Polyaigos
The uninhabited islet off the southeast coast adds a second, substantial landmass to the composition, left entirely free of roads and buildings.

Waarom Kimolos
Een kaart met betekenis
Kimolos is quieter than many of its Cycladic neighbours, and those who find it tend to become attached to it. A map of the island is an understated keepsake for a summer house, a travel wall, or a Greek kitchen.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, keep the coordinates line or adjust it, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand suit the island's whitewashed, sun-dried character.
