Xiaying Map Poster & Print
Xiaying lies in Shandong province, near the southern shore of Laizhou Bay, an arm of the Bohai Sea. The land here is almost perfectly flat. On a map the town has a clear, orderly structure: main roads running at right angles, blocks of housing and industry between them, and farmland continuing in regular parcels beyond the edge of town.
Toward the coast, the landscape changes character. The southern shore of Laizhou Bay is widely used for salt production and aquaculture, and its ponds form large rectangular grids across the low ground. Rivers crossing the plain to the sea run in straight, embanked channels, adding long parallel lines to the composition.
It is a working landscape shaped by farming, industry and the sea, rather than by famous monuments. A Xiaying map poster shows how clearly such a place can be read from above, with each road, channel and field boundary contributing to a pattern that looks almost like a technical drawing.

Coastal pond grids
Near the bay, salt pans and aquaculture ponds cover the flat ground in regular rectangles, one of the most graphic features of this coastline.
River channels
Embanked rivers cross the plain toward Laizhou Bay. Their straight courses cut through the fields and link the town to the coast.

Waarom Xiaying
Een kaart met betekenis
This map is for people with family ties to coastal Shandong, and for anyone who appreciates the precise, engineered beauty of flat landscapes. The dense geometry of roads, fields and ponds makes a composition that feels closer to architecture than to a travel souvenir.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a year. Blueprint suits the grid-like layout especially well, though all five styles are available. The digital files cover six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF.
